As home to Siesta Beach, which was ranked the number one beach in the country by “Dr. Beach,” Siesta Key is the beach lover’s paradise. With its fine, white sand coupled with its clear, blue water, Siesta Beach is ideal for swimmers as well as those who enjoy spending time on the sand. From lying out and soaking up the sun’s rays to playing volleyball, Siesta Beach has much to offer to its visitors. Thanks to its location in the Gulf of Mexico near to Sarasota, however, Siesta Key has more to offer than just one perfect beach.
Connected by two bridges to Sarasota, the 8-mile long Sarasota Key features many lovely beaches and other attractions. Crescent Beach, which is located on the north end of the key, features fine, white sand that never gets hot to the touch. On the north side, Turtle Beach offers opportunities to see turtles and their nests, which are marked during the summer months.
When it comes to shopping, dining and other attractions, “The Village” at the north side of Siesta Key has much to offer. Of course, thanks to its location near to Sarasota, residents of Siesta Key don’t have far to travel in order to enjoy the cultural attractions and nightlife opportunities downtown Sarasota has to offer. Similarly, the nearby St. Armands Circle offers over one hundred boutiques, shops, restaurants and more.
